Cleaning after moving out, before moving in or between tenants
You're moving out
A move-out clean one or two days before the inspection, once the furniture and boxes have gone.
You're moving in
Your new home cleaned before you unpack: cupboards, bathroom and kitchen ready to use.
You're letting out a property
Between tenants, the property is cleaned before viewings and the move-in inspection. Do you also manage the building? See our communal area cleaning.
Before the move-out inspection: our cleaning checklist
At the move-out inspection, the property is compared with its description at move-in. Here are the points we always cover, where the inspector’s eye tends to linger.
Has the property just been renovated? Consider our post-renovation cleaning in Brussels instead, which tackles fine plaster and paint dust.
Oven and hob
Oven interior, racks, hob and glass door degreased; cooker hood exterior and metal filters cleaned.
Fridge and freezer
Defrosted by you beforehand, then cleaned inside, seals and drawers included, and left with the door ajar.
Limescale
Taps, shower head and screens, bath, washbasin, toilet and wall tiles descaled.
Frames and windows
Glass cleaned on both sides where access allows; frames, tracks, sills and handles cleaned. Windows out of reach, or a conservatory? Our home window cleaning service takes over, with a properly equipped partner coordinated by Lorvia for work at height, subject to a quote.
Cupboards and storage
Insides of cupboards, drawers, kitchen units and wardrobes, shelves included.
Floors and skirting boards
All floors vacuumed, then washed to suit the surface, including skirting boards, thresholds and corners.
Doors, sockets and radiators
Doors and door frames, switches, sockets, radiators and accessible light fittings wiped.
When should you schedule end of tenancy cleaning?
Ideally, we come one or two days before the move-out inspection, when the home is empty: with no furniture or boxes, every corner can be reached and nothing gets dirty again before the appointment.
Remember to unplug the freezer the day before our visit so it has time to defrost, and to keep the water and electricity on until the day of the inspection.

A room-by-room photo report
When we finish, we photograph every room, the kitchen (oven, fridge, cupboards) and the bathroom, then email you all the photos. Handy if you have already left Brussels or cannot be there on the day: you can see the condition the home was left in.
What about your rental deposit?
A clean home heads off comments about cleanliness at the move-out inspection. However, getting your rental deposit back depends on the overall condition of the property (damage, excessive wear and tear, repairs) and on reaching agreement with your landlord, so we cannot promise it.
Our commitment covers what is within our control: a thorough clean, carried out one or two days before and documented with photos.
What end of tenancy cleaning does not include
- Clearing furniture, bulky items and any boxes left behind.
- Repairs and touch-ups: holes in walls, paintwork, regrouting or resealing.
- Washing down entire walls and ceilings, and shampooing carpets; individual marks on walls are lightened where the paint allows.
- Windows that need a cherry picker or rope access: through a properly equipped specialist partner, subject to a quote.
How much does end of tenancy cleaning cost in Brussels?
The quote is based on the actual condition of the property:
- the floor area and number of rooms;
- the number of bathrooms and toilets;
- the condition of the oven and cooker hood, and the amount of limescale;
- the number of windows and how easy they are to reach;
- any furniture left behind.
Enter the type of home and the floor area in the form, with a few photos of the kitchen and bathroom if you can: you will receive a free quote within 24 working hours, with no obligation.
Frequently asked questions about end of tenancy cleaning
When should I book the cleaning?
One or two days before the move-out inspection, once the property has been emptied. Book as soon as you know the date: end-of-month dates are in high demand.
Does the property need to be empty?
Ideally, yes: no furniture or boxes. If any furniture is left, let us know: we clean around it, but not under or behind heavy items.
Can you promise I'll get my rental deposit back?
No. Getting it back also depends on any damage, wear and tear, and agreement with the landlord: cleaning alone cannot promise that. Our job is a thorough clean, documented with a photo report.
What does the photo report include?
Photos of every room, the kitchen (oven, fridge, cupboards) and the bathroom, taken at the end of the clean and emailed to you the same day.
I've already left Brussels. Can you do the cleaning without me?
Yes. You leave the keys with us, or your landlord or estate agent lets us in, and the photo report shows you the result. We arrange the key handover with you.
Do you also do move-in cleaning?
Yes, it is the same service, carried out before your furniture arrives: cupboards, bathroom and kitchen ready to use. After that, our house cleaning service can take over.
Our other home cleaning services
Fine dust, paint and plaster marks: your renovated home, ready to live in.
Every week, every two weeks or as a one-off: floors, dusting, kitchen and bathroom, always done by the same cleaner.
Windows, picture windows, conservatories and bay windows, inside and out, frames and sills included.
Handing back the keys soon?
Tell us the floor area of the property and the date of the move-out inspection: we will send you a free quote within 24 working hours and reserve a slot one or two days beforehand.
